This week has seen the PE department forge links with LFC Ladies Football Foundation to deliver football sessions in all Physical Education lessons. Students have been inundated with knowledge about the Women's game and Liverpool Ladies in particular by watching highlights during form time of Women's Super League matches, attending assemblies led by the PE department and experiencing high quality football coaching sessions delivered by Liverpool Ladies football coaches. If that wasn't enough to get our students in the mood for some football fun, we also had a player visit from two of the star performers from the Liverpool Ladies title winning side, Gemma Bonner (Liverpool Captain and England International) and Natasha Dowie (Liverpool and England striker).
The players arrived with the Women's Super League Trophy and took part in a year 9 coaching session before taking to the stage for a question and answer session from our year 7 & 8 students.
All this has attracted much attention and ITV were in attendance to interview and film staff, players and students for Granada Reports. The Liverpool Echo will also be doing a feature for their 'School of the Week' on Tuesday 28th January.
