Girls Play at Opening WSL Match

April saw our year 7 & 8 6-a-side football team become city 6-a-side champions, through competing in a tournament organised by Liverpool Football Club's Foundation department.

The girls won all of their games at Everton Park Sports Centre with Aimie Kelly being voted player of the tournament by LFC coach Vicky Jepson and her team. Through winning this competition the girls then had a wonderful experience of playing at Halton Stadium (home of Liverpool Ladies) before their opening WSL (Womens Super League) match against Manchester City Ladies.

Not only did the girls have a wonderful time playing on the pitch but they were also mascots for the ladies players and then ball girls throughout the rest of the match. The game was televised live on BT Sport, which made the evening even more exciting for the girls as well as witnessing a great victory for Liverpool, beating Manchester City 1-0.

Well done to all of our students who made us all so proud!
