Manchester University

On January 10th, Year 8 and 9 students took part in a Routes into Languages day at Manchester University. We learnt some basic phrases in Mandarin Chinese and Persian. We also learnt about the art of Calligraphy and were taught how to write our names in Arabic. Finally, we took part in a Chinese paper folding session, where we managed to turn a rectangular piece of paper into a frog just by folding it. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it has helped us understand the importance of being able to communicate in other languages.
