LFC Foundation College students have returned home after a successful football trip to Barcelona. Miss McMahon LFC Sport Tutor led the trip accompanied by Miss Hinnegan and Mrs Quirk and 14 of our Sixth form students studying BTEC Sport. Students enjoyed a fun filled action packed 5 days visit to this fantastic Spanish City.
Tuesday was match day for the team, against C.F. Gavamar. The students delighted spectators in their LFC kit with people wanting photographs with them. The girls played brilliantly, Megan scored 20 minutes in to the game from a fantastic free kick just outside the box. The team led up until the last 10 minutes of the game when C.F. Gavamar equalised from a set play. There was a late push for a winner from the girls, with Jahzyiah hitting cross bar. The girls were a credit to themselves and LFC well done girls!!
Wednesday the students were delighted to have the opportunity to see Barcelona play at the Nou Camp. A brilliant occasion and a cherished memory for the students.
The students were also able to take in some of the sights, they visited Sagrada Familia, Gaudi’s famous uncompleted basilica, Port Aventura theme park an hour’s drive out of the city and many other highlights of the beautiful Spanish City, even trying out a bit of Spanish along the way.
Everyone had a wonderful time, making fantastic memories; students didn’t want to come home. The girls were a credit to themselves, the team and the college!
