Operation Christmas Child

This week we have been launching our annual appeal through Samaritans purse- Operation Christmas Child at our Remembrance assemblies with Miss Crowley and Anne our school chaplain. Our focus is not only to remember all those we have lost in war and conflict but also to remember the living and the effects war has on our young. Operation Christmas child is a wonderful way of helping those children and young people living in war torn areas around the world through filling a simple shoe box filled with small gifts that bring great joy and love. Please ask your daughter about how we as a school can help.

Mrs Jordan a mum of two past pupils has been sending in shoe boxes every year filled with small gifts that she has collected over the year and saved for this project. Mrs Jordan is pictured here with some of our Year 9 students. Every year Mrs Jordan fills around 30-35 boxes and this year once again is no exception. Thank you so much Mrs Jordan for your compassion – you are a great ambassador for this worthy cause.

If you would like to fill a shoe box see the school chaplain or check the website www.samaritans-purse.org.uk for more details and please bring into school by Monday 27th November.
