At St John Bosco, we are doing all we can to support your daughter with her remote education to ensure she continues to make progress during this national lockdown.
With this at the forefront of our minds, we as a school have been working incredibly hard to make sure pupils have been able to access remote education, as well as planning to make this even better moving forward. Therefore, we are very excited to announce the launch of the remote timetable on Monday 11th January.
Timetable - Week Beginning Monday 18th January
This is a new timetable that your daughter will follow from 8.55 a.m. on Monday morning. Although the order of the lessons may be different, your daughter will still receive a broad and balanced curriculum. The timetable has been created to be a fully blended approach remote education, meaning for some lessons, your daughter will still access her work from ClassCharts, but many more can now be taught live. Please be reassured that all lessons will be safeguarded, with two members of staff online for each lesson in KS3 and KS4. This means there may be some occasions when your daughter does not have her usual teacher.
If your daughter has not participated in a live lesson before, we use a platform called Microsoft Teams. In order to help get your daughter online for any live lessons she has, I have created a PowerPoint, PDF document and loom video that explains exactly how this can be done. These can all be found via the following link:
Please ensure your daughter has read the documents and watched the video to ensure that she is able to get online and make the most of the learning opportunity.
To provide a summary, the following points are essential to note:
Later this afternoon, you will be sent a copy of the timetable that your daughter will follow on Monday 11th January. Within this timetable, it will tell you whether to access resources from ClassCharts or to log on to Microsoft Teams through office.com. You and your daughter will receive daily reminders about the lessons taking place that day and where the work can be accessed from. The full timetable will be updated on ClassCharts on Monday, so please do not be concerned if it has not been updated before then.
If you have any questions as we transition to the St John Bosco Remote Education Timetable, please ask the member of staff contacting you as part of the school's safe and well calls or email enquiries@stjohnbosco.org.uk.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of all the staff for your continued support as we all try to ensure that our pupils continue to make progress through these challenging times.
