Friday 8th May saw the St John Bosco athletics team head down south to Crystal Palace to take part in the annual Salesian Games Athletics Championships. It was an early start with students leaving school at 6am.It was a fantastic day with all students giving 100% effort. We took home 24 medals which was fantastic but a special mention should go to our Salesian Games Champions, Mia Jo Wilde (year 8 100m champion), Divine Onwu (year 8 high jump champion), Annie Tynan (year 10 shot champion and record holder) and Zoe Price, breaking two year 8 Salesian Games records to become champion in both shot and javelin. Zoe has also just been selected to represent English Schools Athletics.
The journey home was fun filled with a pre-planned stop off for our evening meal at Pizza Hut. Some traffic jams meant that we returned to school at 1 am! Well done to all who took part and for parents coming to collect everyone so late. See results below:
