Sports Challenge

On the 18th June, ten Year 9 pupils took part in a Sports Challenge event organised by the LSSP. This event is aimed at students who do not regularly participate in school teams. The day was split into three different activities, starting with Outdoor Challenge. The group of ten had towork together to solve problems in order to complete the task, with some great team work and communication from Lily Fitsimmons and Tia Jenkinson they managed to compete all activities in the fastest time to be crowned ‘LSSP OutdoorChallenge Winners 2015’.  The second activity was one that none of our girls had played or seen before, Kinball; the aim of the game was to keep the ball up and not let it touch the floor, after afew practices the girls got into it, with some excellent play from Katie Gorman, Radvila Sakenaite, Lauren Blackwood and Stephanie Senior. The girls finished the day off with a Metafit session; high intensity workouts in a small amount of time, led by an instructor. Even though all of the students involved found this hard and tiring, all of the St John Bosco students stuck at it and saw it through to the end putting in maximum effort, especially Kamby Anakwuewho didn’t stop throughout. All the girls involved in the event did an amazing job and represented the school perfectly. The other students involved in the event were Lucy Jones and Stephanie Murtagh. Many thanks to Miss Riley fortaking the girls to this event.
