Year 7 parents were invited to attend a workshop on “Parental E-safety” and “Supporting your daughter with reading”. Miss Crowley delivered a parental e-safety update, highlighting some of the dangers our students face when using modern technology. The session looked at the dangers and what parents can do to ensure their daughters are using technology safely.
Our literacy co-ordinator, Miss Strode, outlined provisions for reading interventions and explained how different strands of reading had been identified and taught. Parents enjoyed a taster session of the Year 7reading enrichment curriculum and discussed the importance of reading for pleasure. Parents were provided with a recommended reading list and advice leaflet outlining how they could support their daughter with reading and homework at home.
