Dance Showcase - What a Night!

KS3 Vogue Collective Performance

On 23rd June, we held the SJB Dance Showcase, and what a night it was! The show included so many different genres, such as lyrical, hip-hop, 60s, 70s, tap, cheerleading and so much more.

As well as fantastic student performances, there were some guest performances from the one and only Empire Dance Company, who’s Pre Junior Display Team wowed the crowd! And there was also an absolutely phenomenal performance from Caitlin Price, an ex-pupil of SJB but now a professional singer who’s impressive careers includes performing on the X-Factor stage and being mentored by Robbie Williams!

The show was jam-packed, so there is no way I could cover every single performance, although I wish I could! So, without further ado, here are some of my personal highlights from the night.

One of the first highlights for me was Eve’s tap routine. This was definitely a great crowd-pleaser and a brilliant way to bring energy to the stage.

Another favourite performance was Taylor singing “You Stole The Show” by Sienna Spiro. Taylor is also a member of our SJB Choir and, with this inspirational performance, you could really tell how dedicated she is.

I particularly enjoyed the KS3 Vogue Collective, who performed routines choreographed by Mr Gaffney and students. This performance was amazing, and there were some brilliant routines included in the mix.

Another performance that really stood out was our Year 7 Cheerleading Team with “Thunderstruck”. The abundance of blue and white was mesmerising, and they did so well!

I also loved Grace’s lyrical performance. The green costume and the choreography went together so beautifully, and she blew the audience away with her power.

I was also lucky enough to see some of the rehearsal process and the behind-the-scenes work that went into putting this show together. It was amazing to see how much effort, teamwork and dedication went into making the night happen.

And that concludes our 2026 SJB Dance Showcase! We had so many great performances that I had a really hard time choosing which ones to write about. But for now, that’s a wrap… until next time!
