In order to support our vision of helping our students find their purpose, we need the support of both the public and private sectors. The careers programme is the bridge between education and employment. Therefore our students need to understand, what skills and qualifications are required to be successful in the work place.
There are a number of ways you can engage with us at St John Bosco Arts College. The below table details how. For more information or to arrange a meeting please contact Adam Powell at firstname.lastname@example.org
Careers Talks are designed to inspire and inform groups of either 20 students or a whole school year of 180 at an assembly.
September 2023 onwards.
We want to expose our Year 9 students to as many careers as possible. This is so they can make better, more informed choices in the future.
Careers Visits – We would like smaller groups of 15 students who are interested in a specific career path to be able to visit your place of work with a member of our teaching staff. The purpose is to inspire and expose students to different working environments.
June 2024 – July 2024
Mock Interviews – Prepare Year 12/13 students for interviews for employment. You will interview 5 students for approximately 30 minutes. The first part of the interview will discuss their CV with the second part consisting of an interview.
Work Experience (Year 12)
Every Year 12 (sixth form student) aged 17 has to complete 5 days of experience.
February 2024 onwards.
