Department vision:

An enthusiastic, highly motivated and well-resourced department. Offering an academic A-level at KS5. It is an exciting and varied subject which will open student’s minds to a range of theories within such a colossal field of study.

Students will be supported throughout the two years of study and beyond to ensure they reach their full potential and expose them up to new skills and careers.

At Key Stage 5, pupils follow the AQA specification for Sociology.
In Year 12, pupils sit two examinations, both are 90 minutes long and equally weighed.
In Year 13, pupils sit three examinations, each exam is 2 hours long and worth 33.3% of the overall grade. The exams consist of both year 12 and year 13 contents
