Sarah was set an English homework to research personal stories of World War 1. She was directed to find out about some actual soldiers. Why did they join? How old were they? What happened to them?
What she discovered was truly amazing. Her uncle whilst working on a house found a tin full of letters from a soldier named John Fowler who wrote to his wife during the first world war between 1915-1917. All the letters were returned to the family. Sarah scanned a picture of the last letter sent about John Fowler during the war it’s a really moving story. Well done Sarah for your research, it's was fantastic to share this story with the class.
