SUCCESSION PLANNING AND TALENT SPOTTING

An important part of our role as Teaching School is to ensure a supply of high quality leaders in to the education system; this will not just be about securing headteacher supply but systematically managing up and coming leadership talent to secure a positive effect on school improvement, performance, recruitment and the retention of the best teaching talent.

Through St John Bosco Teaching School Alliance (SJBTSA) and emerging new partnerships distinct roles and systems are being established to identify, coordinate, manage and develop talent both within and beyond the Alliance.

Through Achieve Together we already have staff accredited to deliver Level 1 and 2 of the new National College Modular Curriculum for leadership development – NPQML, NPQSL. This accredited qualification assessed and awarded by the National College provides a rigorous programme of study exploring the role of middle leader and senior leaders.

We are developing a wide range of courses and programmes in conjunction with our strategic partners and other teaching schools in the region to develop leadership skills and support succession planning at all levels.
