Monitoring, evaluation and review strategies put in place to improve performance;
Monitoring, evaluation and review actions being taken to ensure that all departments function to the highest standard of excellence;
Consider a range of practices/ blue sky thinking to further improve performance in the context of school, local and national trends;
Act as the Self Evaluation Framework committee monitor
recommend approval of the College Pay Policy on an annual basis;
review the performance management documentation relating to the Headteacher and award increments in accordance with the College’s Pay Policy;
consider and agree the incremental progression, including threshold applications, for individual staff in accordance with the College’s Pay Policy.

receive reports and an update on safeguarding;
receive termly reports on the maintenance and development of the college building and grounds;
consider and determine the programme for major refurbishments in consultation with the Personnel and Finance Committee and monitor its implementation;
oversee the arrangements for repairs and maintenance;
in consultation with the Leadership Team and the Finance Committee oversee premises-related funding bids;
keep under review the Premises Development Plan and Accessibility Plan and monitor their implementation;
monitor fire drill and accident reports;
consider the College Health and Safety Policy and make recommendations for its adoption at the Governing Body; and monitor its implementation
receive and consider responses to health and safety inspections and risk assessments;
report progress on areas of concern identified in discharge of any of the responsibilities above;
determine and oversee the arrangements for the approval of educational visits;
inspect the building and grounds, where necessary, after meetings;
oversee arrangements for the use of school premises by outside users;
monitor the premises and health and safety aspects of the College Development Plan.

ensure the college fulfils the requirements of the Diocese and of the Trustees and the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum;
consider the available data provided by the college and LA and ensure that the college fulfils its statutory requirements in respect of base line assessments, key stage assessments and target setting;
monitor teaching and learning outcomes and standards of performance in the college;
invite subject leaders to present to the Committee and respond to their presentation as a critical friend;
consider curricular issues which have financial and personnel implications and refer these to the relevant committee or the Governing Body, as appropriate;
monitor evaluate and review the College’s SEN, student discipline, pastoral care, equal opportunities and sex education policies and make recommendations to the Governing Body, as necessary;
oversee arrangements for individual governors to take a leading role in specific areas of provision, e.g. SEN, Literacy, Numeracy. To receive regular reports from them and advise the Governing Body;
monitor the curriculum extracts from the College Development Plan.

The purpose of the Catholic Life Committee is to support and enhance the Catholic and Salesian identity, ethos and mission of the school, ensuring that it remains at the heart of all aspects of school life. Responsibilities:
To monitor and evaluate the provision for the Catholic life and mission of the school, ensuring that it aligns with the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
To review and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that reflect the priority given to the Catholic identity, charism, and mission of the school.
To actively promote and implement the Bishop's vision, Salesian vision, charism and ethos for the diocese and engage with diocesan policies and initiatives.
To foster a flourishing partnership between the school and its local parish(es) and ensure that the relationships with St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Primary School and the local Church, Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, and all other partnership schools are central to the Catholic life and mission of the school.
To foster other organisations.
To support and empower parents as the first educators of their children, establishing effective strategies for engaging with parents/carers and promoting a strong partnership between home and school.
To ensure that resources are targeted at those in greatest need, both materially and educationally, reflecting the Church's preferential option for the poor.
To lead by example in respecting the dignity of workers, promoting high levels of pastoral care for staff, and prioritising the physical and mental well-being of staff.
To oversee the integration of the Catholic understanding of reality into the taught curriculum, collaborating with subject leaders to make connections between different subject areas and reflecting the richness of Catholic contributions to culture.
To evaluate the effectiveness of the school's Catholic life and mission, seeking feedback from parents/carers, staff, pupils and all stakeholders and offering challenge and support where necessary.
Salesian training and induction for staff.
The Catholic Life Committee should consist of governors who have a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and a deep understanding of the school's mission and ethos. The committee may include representatives from the local parish(es), the school leadership team, and other relevant stakeholders.
The committee should provide regular reports to the full governing board, highlighting key findings, recommendations, and actions taken to enhance the Catholic life and mission of the school. Reports on a regular basis on Salesian activities and charism.
