Ofsted Report - March 2026

Inspectors highlighted the strong relationships between staff and pupils, the high-quality pastoral care, the positive culture of safeguarding, and the extensive opportunities available to support pupils’ personal development and wellbeing. In the sixth form, most students achieve above the national average and go onto destinations of first choice.

The report also recognises the school’s commitment to supporting vulnerable pupils and families, the strength of our enrichment offer, and the dedication of staff and governors in continuing to improve the school for all young people.

Inspectors identified areas where some further improvement is needed so that all pupils achieve as highly as possible. Leaders are already working closely with staff, governors and external partners to continue strengthening curriculum and teaching.

We are encouraged that inspectors recognised the positive impact of recent improvements already underway, including developments in curriculum planning, literacy and reading, pastoral support, personal development and attendance.

St John Bosco Arts College remains committed to ensuring every pupil is known, valued and supported to achieve their full potential.

We welcome any feedback you have from the report and thank you all for your continuing support and care for our students. Everyone at St John Bosco is excited about our next phase and working hard to steer us to an outstanding future.
