Bosco Students Shine at Prestigious Educate Awards

On Friday, 15 November, 50 of out students headed to the iconic Liverpool Cathedral for the Educate Awards 2024 where they took to the stage to perform for over 600 guests.

During the drinks reception, four of our students accompanied by Gaia Ahuja from Girls Don’t Sync, performed an epic DJ set of classic dance anthems including At Night, Shakedown; Show Me Love, Robin S; and Feel My Needs, Weiss.

The set provided the perfect soundtrack for guests as they entered the event, ready for a night to remember.

Our Gospel choir then took the stairs of the cathedral’s well to perform a beautiful rendition of the 2000 hit ‘Proud’ by Heather Small. In true Gospel choir style, our students wore long purple robes to represent our school.

After guests entered the main space, the Bosco Gospel choir performed ‘Shine’ by Emeli Sandé on the main stage. The choir sounded fantastic with cheers and applause from the audience echoing throughout the room.

The choir was invited to perform at the Educate Awards 2024 earlier this year by the team behind the event.

The Educate Awards team said: “It was a delight to work with students from St John Bosco Arts College. They did an incredible job and should be extremely proud.”

Leading the choir was our very own music mastermind, Miss Finnegan.

Miss Finnegan commented: “We were incredibly honoured to be invited to perform at the Educate Awards 2024.
Over the last six months, our students have worked so hard to perfect their performances and prepare for the big event. It was wonderful to see our students shine on stage and showcase the talent we have here at St John Bosco Arts College. A massive thank you to Educate Awards for having us.”

She went on to add: “We have big plans for our Gospel choir, with plenty more events in store!”
