Some very lucky students enjoyed a memorable afternoon, participating in a special session with world-renowned athlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, hosted by Liverpool Football Club. The event was filled with fun, learning, and opportunities to engage with one of the nation’s sporting icons.
The session began with an exciting Kahoot quiz all about Katarina’s life and achievements, with one of our students Molly, securing third place on the “Podium of Knowledge”.
Following the quiz, the girls were tasked with creating book titles reflecting their own life stories and aspirations. Many titles creatively highlighted their passion for sports and what they hope to be remembered for.
The highlight of the afternoon was a lively Q&A session, where students submitted questions for Katarina. One of our year 7 students, Michelle, displayed impressive confidence by taking to the microphone to ask Katarina directly about tips for becoming an athlete. Katarina’s advice was both inspiring and practical, leaving a lasting impression on the students.
The day concluded with a visit to the stadium for official photographs, including a special group picture with Katarina herself. A few lucky students were thrilled to win signed copies of Katrina’s autobiographical book ,”Unbroken”, a fantastic testament to the unforgettable day they shared.
The students were exemplary ambassadors for St John Bosco, displaying politeness, enthusiasm, and confidence throughout. The school is immensely proud of how the girls represented themselves, embodying the spirit of what it means to be a Bosco student.
