On Thursday, December 5th, we were honoured to welcome Katrina from The Anthony Walker Foundation to our school. She shared the powerful story of Anthony Walker, whose tragic death in 2005 was a result of a hate crime. Katrina spoke movingly about the legacy of Anthony’s mother, Gee Walker, whose message of forgiveness has inspired countless people since the loss of her son.
The session was a poignant reminder of the devastating impact of hate incidents and hate crimes. We were deeply moved by the ongoing work of the Foundation, which continues to promote tolerance, understanding, and unity.
It was a valuable opportunity for all of our students to reflect on the importance of embracing and celebrating diversity. We were reminded of the need to stand up against racism and all forms of discrimination, ensuring that our school and community remain welcoming and inclusive spaces for everyone.
