Year 5 Fun Day at St John Bosco Arts College

On Wednesday 25th June Mrs Wharmby organised the Year 5 Fun Day which was an exciting event designed to give Year 5 girls a fun and friendly introduction to what secondary school might be like. The day was packed with activities that helped the girls experience a typical secondary school environment, moving between different classrooms and trying out new subjects.

The girls took part in a variety of exciting events, including trampolining, textiles, and The Big Bang science experiment, where they got hands-on making amazing rockets. They also enjoyed cheerleading sessions, Drama , and joined our MFL team for a Spanish lesson!

Throughout the day, the girls met secondary school teachers and students who shared their experiences and answered questions about school life. The Fun Day helped the Year 5 girls feel more confident and curious about the next stage of their education, making the transition to secondary school less daunting.

It was a fantastic way to explore new subjects, make new friends, and get a taste of the exciting journey ahead.

Mrs Wharmby said ~ "It’s always one of the most special days, meeting students who may well continue their education here with us and seeing them enjoy everything our school has to offer. A highlight was how well our current students supported and guided the Year 5 girls throughout the day, offering encouragement and making everyone feel welcome.”
