A level Physics explores the fundamental nature of almost everything we know of. Study ranges from the furthest reaches of the earth to study the smallest pieces of matter. A level Physics lasts two years, with exams at the end of the second year. Examples of topics in year 1 include Particles, Waves, and Mechanics. Examples of topics in year 2 include Nuclear Physics, Fields, and Engineering Physics. The course also involves practical skills that develop skills needed to investigate the way things work and behave. Examples of the investigations include Interference and Diffraction of Laser Light and Ionising Radiation.
There are 3, 2-hour exams. At least 15% of the marks are what you learned in the practical lessons.
