Year 7-13 Fashion Show

The second St John Bosco fashion show on 15th May 2012 was a great success! Students from years 7 through to 13 modelled, danced and sang to showcase the amazing creations of the Fashion & Textiles students. The show was a full house, due in part to the hotly anticipated appearance of our celebrity guests Chris & Mark Johnson White from the hit TV show Desperate Scousewives.

On display was coursework from Y11 GCSE Textiles and Y13 BTEC Fashion costumes for Midsummer Night’s Star, as well as examples of work from a recycling project undertaken by Y9 students. In other parts of the show, students from years 7, 9, and 12 modelled clothes kindly lent to us by New Look fashion store in Liverpool One. The New Look sections were sourced and styled by Y13 students as part of a unit of their BTEC Fashion & Clothing coursework. Many students chose to show Dance work they have been developing, some of it especially choreographed for the fashion show.

At the interval there were refreshments, notably cookies & cupcakes made by two of our Y9 students, and a raffle draw with a wide range of prizes including jewellery, designer perfume, and the star prize which was a complimentary hair & beauty makeover, very kindly donated by our guests Chris & Mark, to be redeemed at their new Whitehaus salon.

This fantastic evening raised a grand total of £370, to be divided between the charities chosen by the students: Shelter, Teenage Cancer Trust, & Pencils of Promise. Our thanks go to all those who helped to make the event such a success. Looking forward to next year!
